As we pass through life, we are bound to encounter sufferings, various types of physical and emotional pain. We become involved with the unpleasant and separated from the pleasant. We fail to get what we want, instead we get what we do not want.
“It is that activation of the water that demarks the world creation. And in that act of water, what we see are lights coming and going, coming and going- the ripples on the pond. Those lights are ourselves and we think of ourselves as that light to be preserved: here I am; oh dear, no I’m gone.”- Joseph Campbell
Regardless of belief or disbelief in past or future existences, we still face the problems of the present life, problems caused by our own blind reactions. It is important for us to take steps towards ending our suffering by ending the habit of reaction and to experience now the happiness of liberation.
